Founded by art dealer Ben Peacock in 2023, NOVUS is a contemporary art gallery based in Harrogate, shaped by a deep connection to materiality, process, and place. The name comes from the Latin novus, meaning ‘new’—reflecting a commitment to fresh perspectives and boundary-pushing artistic practice.
We showcase work that is sensorial, emotive, and atmospheric, where texture, surface, and form interact to create a deeper sense of energy and presence.
Many of the artists draw from the remarkable landscapes of the North—its shifting light, raw elements, and layered histories—expressing these influences through abstraction, mark-making, and material exploration.
